Craiglist Fiance Calls Off Wedding

BOSTON (April 30) -- The fiancee of a former medical student accused of killing a masseuse he contacted on Craigslist visited him in a Boston jail -- and called off their wedding.

McAllister did not talk to the media. Her lawyer, Robert Honecker, told Boston television station WBZ the couple "had a candid, frank discussion about what has transpired and the events that will transpire in the future."

Obama Enchanted By Our Military

Obama asked what surprised, troubled, enchanted, humbled him most as president

An offbeat question put to President Barack Obama at a White House press conference on Wednesday night -- asking the president to say what had surprised, troubled, enchanted and humbled him most during his first 100 days in office -- prompted Obama to write each word down before carefully contemplating an answer to each.
The president said he was most surprised by the number of critical issues that seem to be coming to a head all at once. While most past US presidents have faced two or three major issues, Obama said his administration has "seven or eight" big problems to deal with.
"I did not anticipate the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression (of the 1930s)," he said.
Obama said he was most troubled -- "sobered" was his preferred word -- by the fact that change in Washington comes slowly, and that "political posturing and bickering" continue even amid crises.
"I wish people would take a timeout on the political games," he said.

On the enchantment question, the president said that "enchanted was not the right word," but that he was "so profoundly grateful" for the role of the men and women of the US military.
When he meets with them, Obama said he feels the "extraordinary sacrifice" they make on behalf of all Americans.
"They are fiercely loyal to our country," he said, and they serve without complaint.
Obama said he was most humbled by the fact that while the US president is "extraordinarily powerful," the White House is just part of a "broad tapestry" in America, which has many centers of power.

Mirroring President Bill Clinton’s reduction in defense spending that some critics claim led to the terrorist attacks against the US and its interests, President Barack Obama is planning his own set of defense cuts with the blessings of his Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

President Barack Obama said Wednesday night that waterboarding authorized by former President George W. Bush was torture and that the information it gained from terror suspects could have been obtained by other means. "In some cases, it may be harder," he conceded at a White House news conference capping a whirlwind first 100 days in office.

Remember Obama wants a civilian military this bill just passed H.R 1388. Now here comes Janet Napolitano calling our military Right wing extremists and comparing our military personnel to Timothy McVeigh. Why would Obama release our military torture techniques because The military is the enemy. He needs to demonize America's military. Destroy their reputation. It's what the leftists do. It's how they destroy the enemy he wants his own civilian military that will be loyal to him.

H.R. 1388 is called the GIVE (Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education) Act. The blogosphere and some on the right have been wondering when Obama said he was going to enforce a "National Civilian Security Force" what that means and if it was going to happen. Well, here it is in black and white.

(2) in subsection (a), by striking ‘Civilian Community Corps Demonstration Program’ and inserting ‘National Civilian Community Corps Program’;

SEC. 1503. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS.

(A) by striking ‘Civilian Community Corps Demonstration Program’ and inserting ‘National Civilian Community Corps Program’; and

(B) by striking ‘on Civilian Community Corps’ and inserting ‘on National Civilian Community Corps’;

(2) in subsection (b), by striking ‘if the person’ and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting ‘if the person will be at least 18 years of age on or before December 31 in the calendar year in which the individual enrolls in the program.’;

(3) in subsection (c)–

(A) by striking ‘Backrounds’ and inserting ‘Backgrounds’; and

(B) by adding at the end the following: ‘The Director shall take appropriate steps, including through outreach and recruitment activities carried out by the chief executive officer, to increase the percentage of participants in the program who are disadvantaged youth toward 50 percent of all participants by year 2011. The Director shall report to Congress biennially on such efforts, any challenges faced, and the annual participation rates of disadvantaged youth in the program.’; and

(4) by striking subsection (e).

Biker Struck By Lightning

(April 27) -- A Lawrence, Kan., man died Saturday after he was struck by a bolt of lightning as he and six companions rode their motorcycles through a rainstorm, the Lawrence Journal-World reported.
Troy Gentzler, 45, was killed shortly after visiting an abuse victim for the northeast Kansas chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse.
The bolt struck as the group was traveling between the towns of Grantville and Perry.
"You can sum it up in one word: bizarre," Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig told the newspaper.
A woman riding next to Gentzler was injured in the accident. She was treated at a hospital and released.
Bikers Against Child Abuse supports children who have suffered physical or sexual abuse. Members of Gentzler's chapter conducted their annual tour Saturday, visiting people who had been in the program for several years, the Journal-World reported. Gentzler had been a member for about two years.

The Truth About The Navy Seals Rescue

The REAL SEALS Story
All of us want to raise our glass the highest this week to the Navy SEALs who popped those three Somali pirates. And I'm sure you want to hear the real story of what happened. Especially because there is a revoltingly opportunistic and cowardly side to it. Guess which side Zero (O-bama) is on.

Why, for example, did it take SEAL Team Six (aka DEVGRU, Navy Special Warfare Development Group, the Navy's equivalent of Delta Force) over 36 hours to get to the scene?

Because Zero refused to authorize the SEAL deployment for those 36 hours, during which the OSC - the on scene commander, Cmdr. Frank Castellano of the USS Bainbridge - repeatedly requested them.

Once the SEALs arrived - parachuting from a C-17 into the ocean near the ship - Zero then imposed Rules of Engagement (ROE) specifying the SEALs could not do anything unless the life of the hostage, Captain Richard Phillips, was in "imminent" danger.

Thus, when Capt. Phillips attempted to escape by jumping off the lifeboat into the ocean, the SEAL snipers had all four pirates (one later surrendered) sighted in and could have taken them out then and there - but they could not fire due to Zero's ROE restrictions.

When the SEALs approached the lifeboat in a RIB (rigid-hull inflatable boat) carrying supplies for Capt. Phillips and the pirates, the pirates fired upon them. Not only was no fire returned due to the ROE, but as the pirates were shooting at the RIB, SEAL snipers on the Bainbridge had them all dialed in. No triggers were pulled due to the ROE.

Two specific rescue plans were developed by Cmdr. Castellano and the SEAL teams. Zero personally refused to authorize them.

After the second refusal and days of dithering, Cmdr. Castellano decided he had the Operational Area and OSC authority to "solely determine risk to hostage" and did not require any further approval of the president.

Four hours later, the White House is informed that three pirates are dead and Capt. Phillips has been rescued unharmed. A WH press release is immediately issued, giving credit to the president for his "daring and decisive" behavior that resulted in such success.

Zero has absolutely no military knowledge or experience whatsoever. He demanded decisional control over the entire hostage drama to the last detail. All actions required his personal approval. He dithered like a coward while the world laughed at our warships flummoxed by four illiterate teenagers with AKs in a lifeboat.

Only when the Navy Commander decided to ignore his Pantywaist-in Chief and take action and responsibility himself, were the incredible skills of the SEALs put into play.

That Zero could cynically and opportunistically claim that his "bold" "calm" "tough" leadership was responsible should remind everyone that not a single action, not a single word of this man can be trusted. He is bereft of honesty and moral character. That's why he's Zero.

The HFR raises a glass full of pride and gratitude to Navy Commander Frank Castellano, the Navy SEALs for their incredible competence, and our military. Let's hold a Tea Party in their honor.

No Pussy Men In Hockey

The math says a team that leads an NHL playoff series 3-2 goes on to win the series 80% of the time. With Chicago and Calgary tied at two wins apiece heading into Saturday's fifth game, a lot was obviously on the line.

While the Blackhawks easily won the game 5-1, it was not the big story of the night. That would end up being the obvious tension between Flames head coach Mike Keenan and the starting goalie he pulled in the second period, Miikka Kiprusoff.



What other sport do the players get hurt stitched up and get back out in the game ?
