Cop seriously injured in 3-car crash

A police officer was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on the South Side at midday, authorities said. Four other people also were hurt.
A source said that police were trying to find the officer's weapon. As of 1:48 p.m., about two hours after the accident, the gun had not been located.
The officer was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Hospital Medical Center in Oak Lawn from the crash at 98th and Halsted Streets, said Quention Curtis, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department.
An older man and woman also were taken to Christ Hospital, and two teenagers were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash, which involved three cars, happened about 11:45 a.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

What they dont tell you in this article is that the officers gun was STOLEN off him while he laid paralyzed in the sqaud car . Dirty Savages

Thoughts and prayers sent for the officer. I just hope he doesn't get in trouble for being unconscious and having his gun stolen... BUT I wouldn't be surprised, after all it IS Chicago.
I agree with Old NFO. my prayers are with the officer.
B's in B. I've had an ambulance pilfered whilst I was with the crew stopping a worthless p.o.s. from leaking to death. Fire crews lured into false calls and getting bricked on `sink` estates (`projects`, I guess you'd call these). I got over this by making sure I always looked for the best in people - I enjoyed the feeling of delight and amazement when I found it. Positive thoughts go out to the officer down.
To those of us cops it doesn't seem surprising that it would happen. It's shocking to Joe Citizen; they have to realize that there are bad people in this world.
Many years ago as a teenager I was on a local road that ran under the freeway. A van pulling a camper trailer had just flipped over the guardrail and landed on the road below. The occupants were killed. As I was trying to render assistance I saw several p.o.s. pilfering these poor peoples possessions that were scattered all over the road. When I yelled at them all they said was F**k em, they're dead and don't need them anymore. I wish I'd of been carrying at the time, I'd of shot their worthless asses.
My prayers are with the officer.
