2 Milwaukee Police Officers Shot Critical Cond.

Teen charged with shooting, wounding 2 Wis. cops (June 11th, 2009 @ 4:23pm) Policy MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee teen accused of shooting and wounding two police officers this week has been charged with two counts of attempted homicide.

Milwaukee County district attorney John Chisholm said Thursday the charges against 18-year-old Julius Burton carry a maximum penalty of 60 years in prison.

Police say two officers approached Burton on Tuesday because he looked suspicious and he began firing without provocation.

Police Chief Edward Flynn says the more seriously injured officer remains in critical condition.

Online court records show Burton has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric examination before his next scheduled court appearance on June 26.

I echo the above.

..."Police say two officers approached Burton on Tuesday because he looked suspicious...."

As a former police law instructor, I, like thousands of others in my calling, had to explain the vagaries of what `looking suspicious` meant in respect of having legal grounds to stop and search someone so as not to infringe the law and liberties whilst not putting ones self in danger. To this day I still believe it is the most slender tightrope an officer walks simply because it happens so often and in the most ordinary of circumstances. More people should realise that.

This element has no regard for human life. As the Mrs. says, I hope he gets what he deserves.

Just so you all know. Someone who actually really knows Julius Burton would know that this is not really him and it takes alot for him to get to the point where he was. He did not have his medication in months. And just so you all know he is a loving caring brother, father, son, grandson, and god father. He may have done something wrong but he is still a human being and EVERYONE makes mistakes. Know matter how bad they are everyone still makes them.

Yep...sounds like a real loving person. And now the P.O.S. is serving 80 years...buh-bye Julius...society is a better place without you.

Hundreds of thousands of people are on medication. Many of them periodically go off of it...99.999999999% of them DON'T run around robbing and shooting people.
