WHAT SHOULD HIS PUNISHMENT BE

VEGAS (March 4) - A man tracked down after a video of him sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl was found in the Nevada desert was convicted Tuesday of that attack and another on a 6-year-old.
Chester Arthur Stiles displayed no emotion as guilty verdicts were read against him for 22 felonies, including sexual assault. He faces multiple life prison terms at sentencing, set for May 8.
Nineteen of the charges stemmed from acts Stiles videotaped of himself with the toddler in 2003. The jury viewed the graphic video Friday.
Outside the presence of the jury, Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti called the recorded images "clearly child pornography in its most graphic form."
A man gave the videotape to authorities in September 2007, five months after he found it hidden in a desert lot about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obstruct a public officer for the delay in turning in the video.
With clear evidence of a sex crime on a toddler but neither the victim nor the abuser identified, investigators released images from the video in a nationwide hunt for both people.
Stiles, 38, of Las Vegas, was arrested in October 2007 after he was identified as the man in the video and a fugitive in a case involving a 6-year-old girl. Prosecutors said he molested the older child in late 2003.
The toddler victim is now 8. Her mother testified she has no recollection of the encounter, which occurred when she lived with a friend's family in an apartment in Las Vegas. The friend's mother was Stiles' girlfriend.
Three charges stemmed from allegations that Stiles molested the 6-year-old while he and his girlfriend spent two nights as guests at the girl's Las Vegas home in December 2003.
That encounter was not videotaped. But the girl, now 11 and living in Washington state, testified that she awoke before dawn one morning with Stiles kneeling next to her bed and fondling her.
The names of the girls are being withheld because The Associated Press typically does not identify victims of sexual abuse.
Deputy public defenders Stacey Roundtree and Amy Coffee said after the verdict they will appeal the judge's decisions to let prosecutors show the video, air jailhouse telephone recordings and read Stiles' personal letters to the jury.
Stiles also faces federal charges of producing child pornography, which could carry a sentence of 15 to 30 years in federal prison. That trial is set for April 6 in Las Vegas.

The Attractiveness of Being A female Alcoholic

Women Alcoholics Have More Physical, Mental Problems than Males

A new study shows that women alcoholics suffer more physical, mental and social problems than male alcoholics, the Associated Press reported.

The 18-month study by researchers at the University of Michigan and Washington University looked at 444 people from St. Louis, Mo., who had been diagnosed as alcoholics.

The study found that 52 percent of female alcoholics reported disruption of regular activities because of physical health problems, compared with 23 percent of men.
In addition, 66 percent of women drinkers said that physical or emotional problems interfered with normal social activity, compared with 27 percent of men.
The study also showed that 28 percent of women alcoholics said they reduced time on regular activities because of emotional problems, compared with 7 percent of men.
“The women alcoholics were much more likely to report having depression, and having depression that interfered with their daily lives,” said Kyle L. Grazier, a professor at the Michigan School of Public Health who co-authored the study with Kathleen Bucholz of Washington University.

Dr. Barbara Dickie, associate professor at Harvard Medical School, theorized that the difference between men’s bodies and women’s bodies is connected to the way they react differently to alcoholism.

“When you talk about having too much to drink, it has to do with body weight and metabolism. Women metabolize alcohol differently,” Dickie said.

The study also revealed similarities between both sexes. According to Grazier, both men and women alcoholics were just as likely to stay in bed all day because of the addiction.

Bitch 2:
Back in the day an old timer told me "There is nothing worse than a drunk woman"
meaning that its unattractive and as you know when people get intoxicated they do things they wouldn't do when their sober. He was a recovering alcholic and the stories he told and the things he did were anything but attractive . That statement he made does make you think how as a woman you act if you had to much to drink. I remember when I was a teenager and being at my friends house and her mother was so drunk she fell over the coffee table. My friend had to help her off the floor an onto the couch. So embarrassing for her teenage daughter, who also is now an alcholic and just broke her wrist from an alchohol related injury . What if you awoke to your wife laying next to you and she was so drunk she pissed on herself .
Thats attractive waking up in your wife or girlfirends urine soaked matress
I want every woman to step back and take a look at how they act when they are drunk
The dancing, swearing, puking, fighting and the guy and took home.
Its not attractive !!!

Officers will be Disciplined

Seven Chicago police officers will be disciplined for allowing a 14-year-old to get away with impersonating a cop for a five-hour-plus tour of duty that included driving a squad car, police Supt. Jody Weis revealed today.

Weis would not reveal the recommended punishment for the officers, who, per union rules, must be given an opportunity to challenge the allegations. The punishment could range from reprimands to suspensions or firing.

The department also is continuing to try to identify the person responsible for snapping a picture of the handcuffed teen in a juvenile lock-up. The photo wound up on the front page of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Weis called the security breach “outrageous,” “angering” and “disturbing.”

“We cannot afford such a lapse,” he said. “We were fortunate that a lot of tragic things did not happen.”

Weis disclosed that the teenager arrived at the Grand Crossing District station at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 wearing regulation police clothes. He was issued a police radio and assigned to a squad car with a female officer who has been on the job about two years. They patrolled for about 5 1/2 hours, Weis said.

The teenager drove the car for about two hours of the shift and helped handcuff a man suspected of violating an order of protection, Weis said.

Weis confirmed the teen also used a portable data terminal but said he did not write any tickets.

The department’s Internal Affairs Division reviewed surveillance tapes and conducted about 150 interviews as part of its 25-day investigation.

The teenager was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24, after he and the 40-year-old officer he rode with returned to the station and a supervisor realized he wasn’t wearing a badge or gun, Weis said. The partner had been on the job for two years.

Boy 13 Kills Brother 16 over Family Drug Business

Boy, 13, Accused of Killing Rival Brother By DENISE LAVOIE, AP
Like most boys, 13-year-old Mykel Mendes looked up to his big brother, Jordan. The two rode bikes together, did yard work together and hung out together. But when it came to the family business — a major drug ring — Mykel did not want to share, police say.
Mykel, a seventh grader, is now accused of masterminding the slaying of his 16-year-old half-brother so he could take over the drug operation — one police say they inherited from their father, who is in prison for running one of the biggest cocaine rings on Cape Cod.
Investigators said Mykel Mendes looked up to his big brother, Jordan, but didn't want to share the family business -- a major drug ring. The case has shocked Cape Cod, where the victim lived just a few miles from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port,

Jordan was found shot, stabbed 27 times and dumped into a pit, where his body was torched. Another 13-year-old friend and a 20-year-old cousin also are charged with murder.
The killing has shaken the normal quiet of winter on Cape Cod, the summer tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, salt water taffy and famous residents. Jordan Mendes lived just a few miles from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port.
"It's very disturbing," said Debra Dagwan, a Hyannis resident and member of the local school board. "It indicates what drugs can do to people, whether they are involved with drugs or selling them. It's a dangerous life, no matter how you look at it."
Mykel's lawyer, John Cunha, dismissed claims by authorities that Mykel planned his brother's death to take over his drug business.
